CliffParticipantCompliments on the updated <Load> <Save> functionality in Spike 3.1.6. Sometimes it’s the smallest detail that can make all the difference. This was a far better fix than I had envisioned and I’m most appreciative of your efforts.
Will you folks be at the IWCE this week ?

The original SA software (2.1d) worked on my Dell Venue 8 Pro 5830 almost flawlessly but subsequent Spike versions have progressively worsened communication between the SA and the Dell.
The first 32 bit Spike 3.0.2 on the Venue 8 was iffy recognizing the SA and for the most part leaving the status indicator pulsing orange and no communications. After multiple attempts the SA would connect but subsequent powering down would duplicate the original fault again in multiples.
The latest version 3.0.3 won’t connect at all even after multiple attempts, reboots, reloading the drivers, changing power settings and USB cables. I have noticed on occasion the status indicator steady green and yet no communication is taking place.
I have removed and reinstalled the program and supplied drivers to no avail. Spike opens up and all appears where it should be on screen but no connectivity via the USB … What am I overlooking in this quest, does anyone have any suggestions ?
I’ve also done the waiting for things to stabilize because I to have option 1 on the SA44B. The SA works great on my HP 4560s Probook Win7 but on my Dell is not communication through USB at all.
CliffParticipantOK, the Spike install went off without a hitch. The dashboard opened up into a different world that I’m used to so I have to re navigate and locate all the options past and now new. I must admit I’m a tad overwhelmed so it’s print the manual and off to the head for some serious study !
So far Spike is looking pretty good but he’s still a pup ….
CliffParticipantTomorrow still the big day for the new software release ?
CliffParticipantYou are all addressing temporary fixes to a poor design issue that by now should have been addressed and corrected. I have had communication service monitors and spectrum analyzers in use for over 30 years and they use in most all instances the time proven indestructible N Female connector. I have never had an N connector catastrophic failure and only having replaced one due to stupidity. These small brass SMA’s are just about as worthless as the mini USB’s being push upon the industry. If I can’t take a piece of test equipment out into the field for fear of some delicate connection being problematic the device as far as I’m concerned is useless. I like my Signal Hound and fabricated an inexpensive solution without jeopardizing any warranty that enabled me the use of my beloved N type connections. The SA is currently in the field but I will have photographs of the fix took upon it’s return. I hope it comes home in one piece.
