munsterParticipantHi,
please, is possible to generate pulse like from standard waveform generator with parameters: pulse width 300 ns, repetition rate 3 kHz, ampl. 625mV and offset 265mV? We have one VSG25A and I need to generate simple pulse but I am not sure if I can use VSG25A for this purpose.
Thank you in advance for your answer.
Regards,
Petr
AndrewModeratorHello Petr,
This is possible, you will need to generate a custom IQ file for this output as we don’t have the amplitude offset functionality build into the pulse gen controls.
If you look in the VSG25A installation directory you will find a number of example IQ files which follow the format you can easily load into the VSG software. You can edit them with excel or any text editor easily to create your desired waveform.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
Regards,
Andrew
Justin CrooksModeratorPetr,
Internally, this pulse could be generated, but it would only be used internal to the VSG25A to modulate a carrier frequency above 100 MHz. We do not have user accessible baseband signals.
munsterParticipantThank you for your answers, guys. I will try to do it with a custom IQ file…sounds good and relatively easy. 🙂

DDRParticipantMy requirement is 80MHz Arbitrary waveform generator /Function generator. Can I use VSG25A & VSG60A?
AndrewModeratorDDR,
In general, our VSG’s are not an alternative to an 80MHz ARB/function generator.
That being said, if you have specific signal generation requirements, we could help you determine if the VSG25/60 would be suited for any part of your application.
Regards
Justin CrooksModeratorDDR,
If a 30 MHz high pass filter would not affect the signals you need to produce, the VSG60A will probably work. Otherwise, you’ll need a dedicated arb / function generator instead.- AuthorPosts
