Just got everything installed on my lab laptop. It is running W10, 32 bit OS, 2.2GHz Intel Celeron processor, 2GB RAM. When I run SPIKE, I get:
“Spectrum Analyzer Software has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.”
I borrowed a laptop with WIN8.1 and everything works OK.
Any ideas?
I may be wrong, but any version of Spike older than 3.0.12 will not work properly with Win 10. What version have you got on your laptop?

All versions of Spike should work on Windows 10. There are only some driver issues with the BB60C pre version 3.0.12. If you are not using the BB60C, then you should have no issues.
If you are running Spike and the software is immediately crashing, you may not have the proper GPU support. The Spike software requires OpenGL 2.0 support from your graphics card. If you can share more information about the PC in question, I can look and see if the PC has the ability to run our software and maybe find any drivers that may resolve this. I would need the Make and Model preferably.
Also can you take a screenshot of the software right after is crashes with the error message. You can post it in the forums here.
Hopefully we can resolve this quickly.

Based on the image you provided, it is the case that the PC does not look to have the necessary graphics support needed to run the software. The tell-tale sign is the solid white blank screen, denoting the graphics driver was unable to render the graticule. It is still possible that updating the graphics driver will resolve the issue. On the page, under the “Graphics-Drivers” tab, try installing the Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family Graphics Driver. There is another graphics driver on this page, if you believe you have this GPU, you can install that one instead. If this driver does not resolve the issue, then I do not believe Spike will be able to run on this system.Let me know if this resolves the issue.

It may not be desirable, but we do have an older version of our software on the SA44/SA124 downloads page. It is version 2.18 of our software. It is not Spike but an older software package. This software does not have any GPU requirements and should be able to work on your PC. It’s on this page https://signalhound.com/support/downloads/sa44b-sa124b-downloads/ under the Legacy Software section.

A.J.I use the SA44 on my Win7 Pro 64 desktop – no difficulty. I also had installed Spike on my HP6530b notebook just to see if it would function. It did flawlessly. Now after upgrading to Win 10 Pro 64, I have the same as you. The GPU chipset and drivers are as yours. Some of the other apps do not appear as before. I think since the pc was capable of this software prior to the upgrade, it must need a new driver that is not yet been addressed.
I tried to connect SA124B in my windows 10Pc, while spike startup it loads for some time and the software shows “invalid status code”.
