JasonParticipantHi Bruce, Justin, and co.,
Can I share my custom user presets in Spike with other users by locating and sharing certain files? Please let me know if this is possible and where to look in my directories.
Thanks!
Best always,
Jason Glass
AndrewModeratorHello Jason,
The preset files are located at
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\SignalHound\
AppData is a hidden folder by default on Windows systems
They are named “Preset[0-8].ini” and they correspond to Presets [1-9] in the software.
You can place them on a different computer in the same directory and they should work. Each preset is only compatible with one type of device, e.g. a preset saved with an SA124 cannot be loaded for an SA44.Regards,
A.J.
JasonParticipantThank you, Andrew. I appreciate the info.
JaredParticipantCould you not move the naming field from an external file into the relevant preset.ini?
AndrewModeratorJared,
In hindsight that would have been a better idea.
Regards,
A.J.
JaredParticipantHi Andrew,
You could also load a Presets path in the settings section…Cheers,
Jared
JaredParticipantAlso,
Can you make them hardware non-specific? with some bounds checking pulled from the connected hardware.
There is no reason why my SA44B presets shouldnt work on the BB60C for example (they are just EMC freq range, amplitudes and RBWs).Thanks!
I’ll have a play with the VSG now…- AuthorPosts
