BruceModeratorSignal Hound is developing the VSG25A, a $495 vector signal generator that is scheduled for release on 19 May at IMS2015, the biggest RF/microwave tradeshow in the USA. Stop by our IMS2015 booth #1442 to meet our team, in Phoenix, from 19 May thru 21 May. The booth will be staffed with Justin, our RF engineer, AJ, our programmer, and myself, Bruce, owner and CEO.
We are looking for feedback on who is interested in the VSG25A and what you might use it for.
Frequency range: 100 MHz to 2.5 GHz. +/- 10 ppm, timebase mechanically adjustable
Amplitude range: -50dBm to +13dBmThe VSG25A will have 100 MHz of usable modulation bandwidth, featuring a 12-bit baseband Arb with clock rates from 60 kHz to 180 MHz.
It will do CW, AM, FM, Pulse, as well as standard PSK and QAM with RC or RRC filters.
We kept the cost down by limiting pattern memory to 4096 x 12-bits and the digital modulation pattern to PN7, PN9, and user defined (max. of 512 symbols). You can also send it up to 2048 of I/Q samples with a duty cycle that is either continuous or user defined.
This will be a great vector signal generator for educational / hobbyist applications, or for debugging receiver designs. What other commercial / industrial applications are out there? What features need to be added to give it a broader appeal?
JaredParticipantTotally keen!
Anything I can do to help debug etc…jared
