amedinaParticipantHi,
I’m currently evaluating how to synchronize a SM200B and a VNA400 at the same time. We were able to discipline the SM200B timebase using the provided GPS antenna however the VNA400 only accepts 10 MHz external reference input. My question is, can I daisy chain the 10 MHz output of the SM200B to the VNA400? I am assuming that the internal oscillator will be disciplined/synchronized thus having an accurate 10 MHz output.

Amedina,
If you have an external 10 MHz source, I would use it to drive both instruments’ 10 MHz input. If not, you can use the 10 MHz output from the SM200 to drive the VNA400. This will discipline the VNA clocks and frequency output. I would do this before you calibrate the VNA.- This reply was modified 1 week, 5 days ago by
