GSinghParticipantHi,
I have been using VSG60A for signal generation. since quiet some time i have been facing with signal output issue of VSG 60A especially while using digital modulation. The output disappears completely. Even if i switch the RF OFF then ON only the color of LED in front changes but there is no signal output. I have to remove and then reconnect the VSG for the output to appear again.
Have faced similar issue while using VISA commands also. after few changes in power values, the signal completely disappears.
pl provide any guidance to troubleshoot the problem
AndrewModeratorGSingh,
Can you please email aj at signalhound dot com for support of this issue. When you email, please provide the following information.
– A picture of the configuration of the software at the time this issue occurs. We would like to try to reproduce this with the settings you are using.
– The make/model/CPU of the PC you are using.
– A description of how you are measuring the output of the signal. Are you using another Signal Hound product to measure the output? Can you describe your measurement setup?
We look forward to the response.
Andrew
GSinghParticipantHi Andrew,
The details of my PC are i7-10700 CPU,
32 GB RAM.
I am using the VSG through two 3.0 USB ports to rule out any power supply issue.
I was trying to carry out CDR and SFDR calculation where i need to change the power output multiple times and also carrying out Digital demodulation of the signal using SA 124.
During operating after a few iteration of power change, the output suddenly goes blank though the LED still shows amber light indicating signal output from VSG. same is with digital modulation after a few iteration, the output goes blank.
I have to disconnect and reconnect the VSG and start my work again.
can you pl look in to the issue. Have also recently upgraded the software but the issue still persist.
AndrewModeratorCan you post the configuration of the VSG60 software at the time of failure? It sounds like you are keeping the configuration the same except changing the output level? We can try to reproduce the issue here and see if it is software related. Anything else you can provide that could help up reproduce the issue here would be appreciated.
Other ideas. Have you tried your test on a different PC, to rule out any issues specific to this PC?
What is the make/model of the PC you are using?
Please email me at aj@signalhound.com with your response if it is more convenient. You will also get quicker responses via email.
Andrew
