So turning off the image/spur rejection will not solve the problem?
And if I set the VBW to 1/10 of the RBW and measure below 42MHz (I measure from 20 to 40kHz or 60 to 100kHz) I dont have to substract 3dB from the measurement.
I will try it with the SA44B at first.

connect the photodiode or DUT to a current/voltage amplifier (transimpedance amplifier) the output of the amplifier, should be ac or use a dc blocking element, connect to the Signalhound.

Yes the gain is 1000 volts per amp.For example:
-120dBm to V/rt Hz than using the gain 1000V/A to get A/rt Hz???_(???/??)=?_???−10 log(???) [-120-10log(10)]
?= (√(10^((?_???−30)/10)∗?))/???? (rt(10^((-130-30)/10)*50OHm)/1000V/A
I = 5E-10A/rt HzIs this the way to do?
