FernandoParticipantHi,
I recently acquired my SA44B spectrum analyzer and it was working fine until some days ago. I just used with near field probes, pre amplifiers, compared with other spectrum analyzers, did self tests and everything was according to expected.
Today it’s not behaving like it should. It’s not receiving any signal, self-test fails in all parameters and an awkward spectrum remais between 100k~140Mhz even without anything plugged in input connector (picture attached). I get readings in 100kHz of almost 20dBm even without anything connected!
What can I do to debug what’s happening? I’m starting to think that the input is somehow burned…
Thank you!

FernandoParticipantUpdate:
The 18dBm peak I was looking at 100kHz, seems to be a DC level or something like that. I can see that even close to 1Hz (see new attached picture) again without anything on the input.
Thanks,

Hello Fernando,
Yes, the peak at 1Hz is 0Hz and expected.
If you are no longer seeing your input signal in the SA44B, then we need to consider the possibility of a damaged attenuator/RF front end, often the result of a high input DC or static. Please email your details to justin@signalhound.com and we can begin the RMA process if indeed this is the determined outcome. We look forward to your email.
