Roy MercerParticipantUsing the default sweep mode and feeding the SA an un-modulated VHF RF carrier, all that is displayed is the noise floor unless I raise the span to 300 KHz or higher. However the carrier is properly shown with a span less than 300 KHz if I enable my externally connected 10 MHz reference signal. Is this normal?
Justin CrooksModeratorThis is definitely not normal. Is this the Spike application? Have you tried restarting it? If the problem persists, you may need an RMA for repair.
Roy MercerParticipantYes sir I am using Spike software. I have re-started the software but I don’t think I have re-started the computer or R&R the USB cable. I’ll try that next. I tried it with a 10 MHz signal and could just start to see the carrier on the right side of the screen as if my center frequency entry was not displaying properly in the center. Since the external reference corrects the issue maybe something is wrong with the intrnal R.O. Thanks for the quick reply.
