djsbriscoeParticipantI have the SA44B/TG44A combo. BEFORE I connect any signals to these instruments are there ANY ESD precautions I should take? I have a DC block and a couple of 20dB attenuators arriving soon. I’m hoping I don’t have to strap myself to an earth point every time I want to use them.Thanks.
AndrewModeratorHello DJSbriscoe,
It sounds like you are prepared.
The big things to look out for are,
DC – which sounds like you have handled.
+20dBm max into the unit – Which the attenuators will help with, or an RF limiter can help.
Connecting an antenna – Having yourself grounded or having an RF limiter on the front end will help with connecting an antenna on the front end. High risk being static on the center pin into the unit.Regards,
