tom_iphiParticipantHi,
I have an SA44B and I have just switched from the old Signal Hound software to Spike. Generally, I like Spike much better than the old software, but I have one issue when measuring spektra the a 200MHz-4.4GHz span: The old software allows me to select 5MHz resolution bandwidth and sweeps the range in a bit over a second. Spike won’t let me set the RBW beyond 250kHz and the sweep time is about 10s. This makes Spike quite useless for my application. Is this a software limitation or am I doind something wrong?
Best regards,
Tom
AndrewModeratorHi Tom,
The 5 MHz RBW for SA44B is not something that has made it over to the Spike software at this point. It is something we want to add back in eventually. The old software (2.18) can be installed side-by-side with Spike if you need to use this functionality for the time being. I apologize for the inconvenience.

A.J.
tom_iphiParticipantOk, many thanks for the quick response!
I do have both softwares running side by side. That’s how I noticed.
Looking forward to Spike updates then.Best regards,
Tom
AndyParticipantI’d like to support Tom in his request. As a ‘quick signal finder’ the 5 MHz RBW was very handy and I too miss it. Thanks.

Hi Tom and Andy,
I have scheduled Justin to write the 5MHz RBW into Spike by the end of September. Thanks for your input and patience. We are looking for another programmer so that we can increase our software writing capacity and respond quicker to customer requests. Signal Hound keeps Justin and AJ pretty busy. Its time for us to expand a little.

AndyParticipantThat’s great, Bruce. Please don’t forget the -ndB markers either!
AndrewModeratorHi Andy,
In Spike version 3.0.11 we released the ability to drag the active marker around with the mouse. This will hopefully make some of your measurements easier until we implement the full -ndB markers. It is still on our list of feature requests.
