VolkerParticipantmaybe a dream comes true ?
Anymore infos on this topic ?
Hard to stay patient.Thanks
Volker
AndrewModeratorHi Volker,
Yes, we have been working on LTE measurements and hope to release them in Spike soon. Due to customer feedback we are also exploring 5G measurement support to be released simultaneously. Unfortunately we don’t have a set release date, but it does look like 2022 at this point.
If you have specific LTE/5G measurement requirements, please reach out to me at aj at signalhound dot com to let me know about them. I look forward to any feedback on this.

CyprienParticipantI was a little surprised when I noticed the casual comment in the latest Spike release “* Added LTE measurement mode.”!
I have been playing already and am very impressed especially the cell scanner – just what I was hoping for to upgrade a monitoring station solution. Now I am really looking forward to the BB60D to make things smoke from a dynamics perspective. In a dream world API support would be utterly awesome!
Absolutely amazing work!
AndrewModeratorThanks for the feedback Cyprien.
While not exactly API support, there is already SCPI automation support for the LTE measurements. You could write a script to automate the measurement and pull measurement information from Spike. Full blown API support isn’t on the roadmap right now. Look in the SDK for the SCPI manual and examples.
Development on the BB60D is still moving forward. Dynamic range and phase noise have improved quite a bit, both contributing to better LTE measurements.
If you have any additional feedback on the LTE measurements, please reach out to aj at signalhound dot com.
Thanks
CyprienParticipantThanks Andrew,
Sounds like SCPI is the way to go and seems to support what I need.

EmoParticipantHi Andrew,
I am impressed by the LTE measurements however I ran into a problem decoding LTE-M where the software seems unable to decode the SIB properly. As a result the mapping feature in combination with LTE decoding is also unreliable.
The LTE version I am testing is
LTE-M cat1, Band 72(450Mhz), stand alone 1.4Mhz(6PRB’s) using a BB60C on Spike version 3.8.8 on both Windows 64 bit as well Ubuntu 22.04Eric

Eric,
Thank you for the report.
We have not done any testing with LTE-M signals, or any of the LPWA variants. Given this, I do not believe we can adequately support these measurements. I have added these comments to our development logs. In the future we might be able to introduce this capability.
Out of curiosity, what sort of equipment are you testing?
EmoParticipantHi Andrew,
We are trialing a new live LTE450 network for the utility industry and as such a lot of RF validations/accreditations take place on both the new network equipment as well as the new smart-meters and routers that will be deployed.
(It is a world wide development at the moment see also 450alliance.org)
Regards,Eric
