mikesParticipantI saw the announcement at the recent AOC conference of a SM200C to arrive next summer with a 10GbE SFP+ interface for continuous streaming of up to 160 MHz bandwidth. This is very exciting to me (and others). Will the 10GbE link also be used for control of the SM200C, or will the USB interface be required? Having control and data over a single 10GbE connection opens up different field deployment scenarios where the computer can be much farther away from the SM200C. Also, do you have any estimate on the price, with full temperature range (-40C to +65C)?
Thanks!
AndrewModeratorHi Mike,
Thank you for your interest.
A USB connection will not be required. Commands and data will be sent over a 10GbE link. We are estimating price to be higher by ~2k USD. We are also planning on offering the same temp range as the current SM200A/B. Obviously this is all subject to change as we continue development.

Andrew
testpointParticipantHi andrew, any plan for release a down converter can test up to 42 GHz ? this is the FR2 5G band.
AndrewModeratorTestpoint,
We are currently evaluating options to reach ~44GHz for 5G frequencies. We have no definite plans as of yet. Check back maybe later this year.

Andrew

Hi Testpoint,
As a follow up.
We have started work on a SM model that will go to 44GHz, that we currently naming it the SM440B. We are anticipating release Q2 2021. Please check in periodically, we will have more information as we continue development.
Regards,
Andrew
AnonymousInactiveWow 44GHz that’s amazing. Are this spectrum analyzer compatible with linux?
AndrewModeratorOur BB60 and SM200 spectrum analyzers are compatible with Linux. The SM440 will also be compatible with Linux.
