tlbuiParticipantHello,
I am just aware of that Spike now provide noise figure measurement function.
Please advise me any noise source is available for purchase at SignalHound, if required?
Thanks with regards,
Tuong Lam
Justin CrooksModeratorWe do not currently carry noise sources. You can look at Keysight’s 346A or B or Noisecom’s NC346A or B. I would recommend a 346B (or NC346B) for most testing, and if your gain is too high, pad it down at the output to around 20 dB for best results. The higher ENR generally provides better measurements, but not if you saturate your RF input.
VolkerParticipantIt would be a nice feature if you would take the attenuator (if mounted) into account.
Since this is not really important for NF it would give the right values in the gain plot for documentation purpose. I was thinking about using the “reference level offset” but I think it is not the best solution. Maybe a field “loss after dut” will be better
tlbuiParticipantHi Justin,
Thank you for your recommendation.

AndrewModeratorVolker,
Thanks for your feedback. I have made a note of this for the next time we revisit the Noise figure measurement.
