ClintonParticipantI’ve been thinking about getting an isolated usb hub for my SA44B and TG44A. Do you recommend this or is high speed usb required?
AndrewModeratorHi Clinton,
Both of those devices can be used on USB 2.0 hubs. We use this hub in our production line with great success

It probably is a bit much for your needs, but there might be something similar. I would imagine most hubs with an external power supply will run the devices fine.Let us know if you have additional questions.

Andrew
ClintonParticipantHi Andrew. Thanks for the quick reply. I have a cheap powered Belkin hub that they won’t work on. Maybe the hub is toast. I was wondering more about an isolated hub to isolate the devices or safety reasons. Both mine and the equipment.
Justin CrooksModeratorThe SA44B requires 480 MBPS USB (high speed USB 2.0). It also requires about 400 mA of current from the port. If the isolated hub cannot provide the data rate and required power, it would not work. Otherwise it should be fine.
TishersParticipantLook at the Lindy or Startech or USB hub industrial 7 port USB 3.0 hub. It is capable of providing up to 2A. Of regulated voltage. I use it to power the BB60 the tracking generator and another generator at the same time. It uses a linear power supply so there is no switching noise. Love it with only one 3.0 port used on my laptop.
ClintonParticipantThanks Justin. That’s what I was wondering. I don’t think there are any isolated hubs that support 480 MBPS.
Jay ZebrykParticipantRather depends if “Isolated” is actually meant as not being powered by the PC/Laptop or whether “Galvanic” isolation is truly required.
As the Signal Hound does draw a lot of current via the USB Bus, this works well for me and is about $16.
